Our team wants to help business and homeowners keep up with these increasing connectivity needs, and to do that we offer a variety of fiber optic cabling services. One of the many services we offer is known as cat6 cabling, and in this article, we’ll provide an overview of what that is so that you can decide if it is right for you.

What is Cat6 Cabling?

To put it simply, cat6 cabling is a type of fiber optic cabling that uses the latest version of the cables to provide more consistent results and more powerful connections. Cat6 cables are a standardized style of twisted pair cable, and they must meet more rigorous standards for crosstalk and system noise than previous iterations such as cat5 or cat5e cables. Specifically, cat6 cables must meet performance standards of up to 250 megahertz, compared to just 100 megahertz for their predecessors.

When installing cat6 cabling, it is important that the technicians make sure that the cables are not kinked or bent too tightly, as either could prevent the cables from delivering consistent results. Fortunately, our team has extensive experience working with cat6 cabling, so you can count on us to make sure that your network is as robust and reliable as ever. If you have questions about cat6 cabling, we encourage you to give us a call.
